Reneé B. Johnson and Reese join us to discuss Get Outside! A Survey of Alton Area Parks Past and Present, a new 88-page hardcover book highlighting parks throughout Alton, Godfrey, and Foster Township. Created as a collaborative effort between the Alton High School Graphic Design Club, Reneé B. Johnson, and The Hayner Public Library District Genealogy & Local History Library, the project combines photography, history, and design to showcase some of the area’s most treasured outdoor spaces.

We’ll talk about how the project came together, the students involved in bringing it to life, and the upcoming book launch and signing taking place May 23 at Jennie D. Hayner Park.
