William Arthur Yost, Jr., 84, passed away at 6:08 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012.
Born Sept. 15, 1927 in Alton, he was a son of William Arthur Yost, Sr. and Marie E. (Ettington) Yost.
He married Alberta E. Pepper June 26, 1948 in Brighton. She survives.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He retired from ConAgra, where he worked as an electrician.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lynn (Jim) Yost Hussey of Chesterfield, Mo.; a son, William “Bill” Yost of East Alton; 3 grandchildren, Susan (Derek) Jarman of Wood River and Gregory (Julie) Yost and Kevin (Kayla) Yost, all of East Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Samuel Dean Yost.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights and will continue Thursday, May 17 at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military honors by the Ritual Team of Alton VFW Post #1308.
