Waldo T. Snider, 84, passed away at 9:40 pm Saturday October 8, 2016 at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab. Waldo was co-owner of the John Deere Dealership in Hardin, Illinois and later retired from General Waste Services of Alton, Illinois.He was born on June 4, 1932 in Hardin, the son of Theodore & Norma (Gresham) Snider.Waldo married Deanna “Sue” Eberlin on September 7, 1957 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin.  She preceded him in death on July 11, 2010.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws Robert and Gary “Tony” Eberlin and sister-in-law Pat Snider.He was a member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church and served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Philippine and was a member of the American Legion in Hardin.Waldo is survived by five children and spouses, Melinda Snider of Brussels, Gregory & Mindy Snider of Alton, Scott Snider of Hardin, Kimberly & Doug Meyer of Brussels, and Danny & Marcey Snider of Michael; five grandchildren, Amy Meyer, Shanahan and Reagan Snider, Kelcey(Eric) Herter, and James(Becca) Snider; two great grandchildren, Ashlyne Herter and Hunter Snider; one brother, Dale Snider of Jerseyville, sister-in-laws Barb(Babs) Eberlin of Alton and Eleanor Heitzig of Fieldon.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am October 13, 2016 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin. Burial will follow at St. Norbert’s Cemetery.Memorials may be made to: Calhoun Ambulance FundOnline condolences and guestbook may be found at www.gresskallalschaaf.com
