Trudy Schauster

Trudy Marie Schauster, nee Johnson, 79, of Belleville, IL, born December 7, 1946, in St. Louis, MO, died Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon IL.

Trudy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Knights, Ladies of Illinois, Metro East Social Singles, Cub Scouts Den Mother, and the Cathedral Mother’s Club. She was a past registrar for Camp Ondessonk and worked at the registrar’s office for McKendree College.

Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis P. Schauster, whom she married on September 16, 1967, and who passed on August 7, 2004; her father, George P. Johnson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Isabel Schauster; a nephew, Kyle Johnson; and many in-laws.

She is survived by her two children, Eric A. (Jennifer) Schauster and Katie A. Schauster; two grandchildren, Luke and Lizzy Schauster; her mother, Virginia M. Johnson, nee Orschell; one brother, Kenneth G. (Donna) Johnson; one sister, Julie A. (Ed) Sedej; a brother-in-law, Paul (Ruth) Schauster; a special friend, Clarence Lindthorst; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
