Stella Boukas, 88, died at 12:25 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at her residence. She was born April 8, 1935, in Lamia, Greece the daughter of the late Georgios and Georgia (Kyrkou) Tasiopoulos. She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Swansea, IL. On July 20, 1960, in Lamia, Greece she married John Boukas and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2020. Surviving are one daughter, Maria Boukas (Panagiotis Fikas) of St. Louis, MO., three grandchildren, John (Ally) Fikas, Vanessa Fikas (Konstantinos Hiotis), Stelios Fikas, two great-grandchildren, Daphne Fikas and Zoe Fikas, one brother, Konstantinos (Ellen) Tasiopoulos and one sister, Katina Koutikia.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 12:00 p.m. noon at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Father Achilles Karathanos will officiate. Memorials may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
