Stanley "Stan" Schillinger, 57, of Moro, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Staunton Health and Rehab, with his wife and daughter, Jessica, by his side following a battle with MSA (Multiple System Atrophy).
Stan was born in Alton on June 2, 1968, the son of Gary Schillinger and the late Joyce (Ellis) Schillinger. He married Linda Heitzman in Edwardsville, on October 2, 1998. She survives.
Along with his wife and father, he is survived by his three children, Jordyn Schillinger, Jake Schillinger and Jessica Schillinger; a stepmother, Wilma Schillinger; and siblings, Dennis (Kelly) Schillinger, Laura (Ken) Farley, and Vicky Full. In addition, a sister-in-law, Kathi (Jeff) Schillinger; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Brian May and Tim E., and stepbrothers, Ken (Della) Hetge, and Roger Hetge also survive.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Justin Schillinger; his brother Jeff Schillinger; a nephew, Nick Full; and his best fishing buddy, "Skip" Cunningham.
Stan worked at Boeing as a machinist in the metrology lab, which he loved and enjoyed spending the day with his friends. He also loved to fish, especially at Beaver Dam and power plant lakes. He enjoyed taking Jessica with him in the boat, because she was willing to get up early and go with her Daddy. He had a fondness for music. He liked the Police, Billy Joel, and Jimmy Buffett, but the latter was because his wife insisted. He loved Owl City which he saw in person many times with his daughter, Jordyn.
He loved the holidays with his family. He would set up a camera and record the children opening presents or hunting for Easter eggs. Jake remembers that as his favorite memory of his dad. Stan also was an avid sports fan. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, as he was named after Stan Musial. He loved the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Bears, although he would watch whatever sport was on.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1 pm until time of service at 4 pm, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, Il. His friend Tim will officiate.
Inurnment will be at a later date, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, for the family.
