Sarah Gimlin

Sarah Alice Gimlin, 54, died at 4:10 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with cancer.She  was born on July 1, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Franklin & Elva "Sue" (Sutton) Gimlin.Alice loved being a Mom, and also loved to fish and springtime mushrooming.  She also enjoyed her many trips that she was able to take visiting her son in whichever location he was living at the time.Surviving are her two sons, Richard Gimlin of Seattle, Wa., and Brian Huff of Kane; her mother, Elva "Sue" Gimlin of Jerseyville; two brothers, Franklin Gimlin of Fieldon and William Gimlin of Eldred; two sisters, Diane Benner of Delhi and Janice Shook of Grafton; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Gimlin, and his wife, Roberta.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday.  Father William Hembrow will officiate.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials would be appreciated to her family to assist in placing a granite monument in her honor at her gravesite.
