Sally Renee Ray, 65, passed away at 2:42 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
She was born on October 27, 1958 in Wood River, IL the daughter of Maurice and Grace (Keasler) Wills. On September 5, 2020 Sally married James Ray in White Hall, IL.
Sally lived a life brimming with passion and laughter, earning her reputation as the heartbeat of any gathering. She found solace in music, especially that of live bands, and took delight in gardening and growing flowers. With an affinity for the mysterious and all things Halloween, she embraced the spooky with unmatched enthusiasm. But above all, Sally's heart belonged to her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
Sally is survived by her husband, James Ray; her sons, Jon Sparks and Tony and Amanda Sparks; her siblings, Sharon Szegedy, Jeff and Katy Wills, Robin and Cindy Wills, and Betsy and Bob Blacklock; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Sammie Sparks; brother, Samuel Wills, sister, Andrea Wills; and her first husband, Robert C. Sparks.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17,2024 from 4:30 pm until the time of service at 7:30 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
