Roy “Al” Albert Yount, age 83, of Madison, IL, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Al was born on July 20, 1940, in Morley, MO, a son of the late George W. Yount and Ada (Wright) Yount.
On March 16, 1998, Al married Connie Price in Seminole, FL. Al retired from McDonnell Douglas/Boeing as an inspector in St. Louis, MO, after 30 plus years of dedicated service. He was also the owner of AL’s 520 Club in Madison, IL. Al enjoyed bullshitting, golfing, and fishing. In the winter months, he was a snowbird and he enjoyed going to the sunshine state of Florida. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Al will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and a dear friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Al, was preceded in death by a two sisters, Flossie and Fay; three brothers, Dave Yount, Frank Yount and George Yount; and by a son, Thomas Wallace.
Al is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Yount of Madison, IL; loving children, Al (Barb) Yount of Greenville, IL, Tony (Monty) Alton of Lake of the Ozarks, MO and Cary (Kristen) Smith of Waldorf, MD; dear siblings, Ray (Francis) Yount of Clearwater, FL and May Seibert of Granite City, IL; proud grandfather to Mandy, Nick, Scotty Joe, Alex, Matt, Emma, Ethan, Tristen and Kalbe; proud great-grandfather to Hailey, Brianca, Ethan, Leland, Nick, Gabe, Landen, Oliver, Mattix and Dax; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Al’s life will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Al’s 520 Club in Madison, IL. If you would like to bring a side dish to Al’s party would be greatly appreciated.
Memorial donations may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children.
