Roberta J. "Bobbye" LaRussa, 57, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born July 13, 1953 in Alton, she was a daughter of Paul J. and Betty J. (Scott) LaRussa.
A bartender for several years, she had a very soft spot in her heart for animals of all kinds. She also loved gardening, shopping, and collecting movies. Her favorite pastime was spending precious time with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Renee J. and Alex Ironwing and Julie A. Boren, all of Brighton; two granddaughters, Bayli M. Ironwing and Ava Garrison; six sisters and their husbands, Paula and Frederick Quinn of Dorsey, Virginia LaRussa of Wood River, Betty Willard of Bethalto, Tina LaRussa of Alton, Angelina and Steven Donnelson of Hamburg, Ill., and Joey and Daniel Crowson of O’Fallon, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Cindy LaRussa of Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parent and a brother, Paul J. LaRussa.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 6 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 5 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 6 p.m. Larry Crocker will officiate.
Memorials may be given to the Bobbye LaRussa Benefit Fund, in care of United Community Bank in Bunker Hill.
