Robert Green

Alton |

The vibrant spirit of Robert Chase Green, affectionately known as Chase, embarked on his final adventure on June 4, 2024, at the sprightly age of 67. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 19, 1957, Chase made life a stage for kindness, compassion, laughter, and the occasional off-timed joke.

With a heart as grand as the Mississippi, Chase was a loving and selfless soul. Chase was a man who planted roots of love and laughter in the hearts of everyone he met. His family was his pride and joy, and his heart was always an open book that he happily shared with those he held dear.

His legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Anne Bogart-Green, his children whom he was insanely proud of, Lura (James), Kate (Kevin), and Joe, along with the apples of his eye, his grandchildren Robby, Foster, and Tessa. His siblings Jim, Robin, Scott, and Jon will continue to share his stories, ensuring his memory remains as lively as he was. Chase has reunited with his parents Jim and Joan, step-mother Joy, brother Matt, and beloved child, Christopher. In addition, Chase held a special place in his heart for his extended family in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Chase’s educational escapades took him from the halls of University City High School to the esteemed corridors of Saint Louis University. He was a man of many hats and even more entrepreneurial adventures. His business pursuits were as varied and colorful as his jokes. He was a true jack of all trades who was always thinking outside the box.

A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he was a saint in the streets and a historian in the sheets of the City of Alton Historical Commission. A firm believer in participatory democracy, he served regularly as an Election Judge, to ensure every voice was heard, even if it was just to tell him his latest joke wasn’t funny.

His final curtain call will commence at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, Illinois, where friends and family are invited to a visitation at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a. m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Piasa Palisades Group.

The Gent Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois, renowned for their compassion and care, is orchestrating the final details of Chase's grand finale.

As the earthly spotlight dims on a life vibrantly lived, Chase's encore will be the memories and laughter he leaves behind—a standing ovation that will resonate forever in the hearts of those he touched. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
