Richard "Rick" Robert Wright, 65 years old, passed away at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 with family by his side.
He was born in Saint Louis, MO to Robert and Hildegard (Marquart) Wright.
He graduated high school in 1974 from Riverview Gardens. Richard worked as a bricklayer for B.J. Marquart & Sons Bricklaying. He enjoyed golfing with his friends (he was well known for his many holes-in-one), fishing, listening to live music and attending St. Louis Cardinals games. He loved all things hockey including refereeing, coaching at Civic Memorial High School, and going to St. Louis Blues games.
Richard is survived by his mother, Hildegard Wright-Glenn; daughter & son-in-law, Jessica Wright & Jacob Scarborough of Alton, IL; son, Andrew Wright of East Alton, IL; granddaughter, Madison Stephens of Alton, IL; siblings, Vicki (Don) Kaffenberger of Chandler, AZ, Steve (Lisa) Wright of St. Louis, MO, and Denny Glenn of Nixa, MO; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wright; step-father, Louis "Bud" Glenn; step-brother, Kevin Borrini; aunts, Rose Marie "Tubby" Marquart and Margaret "Sugar" Marquart; and uncles, John Marquart, Allen Wright, and Eugene Wright.
Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home is in charge of professional services. There have been no public services scheduled at this time. The family will plan a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Cremation rites were accorded.
