Richard W. “Bill” Hughart, 92, of Hardin, IL, formerly of East Alton, died at 7:59 a.m. Tues. March 12, 2013 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, IL.

He was born Jan. 9, 1921 in Louisiana, MO.

On June 21, 1975, he and Wilma “Hope” (Morgan) Kasiewicz were married in Wood River, IL. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2010.

Bill was a proud WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Albrecht-Hamlin Chevrolet as a body technician in 1983, after 42 years of service. He had been a member of the Wood River Moose, the East Alton American Legion Post #794 and Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062 AF & AM.

He is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, James W. & Mary Kay Hughart of Fieldon, IL, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Norma & Leo Spano of Wood River, Karen & Ross Signorino of Rosewood Heights, IL and Janet & Steve Wilbur of Gilbert, AZ, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Judy West and his parents and siblings.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Sat. March 16, 2013 at Paynic Home for Funerals with Jim Kiel officiating. Burial will follow with Patriot Guard escort to Roselawn Memory Gardens and military honors.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
