Randall P. Steele, 63, of Collinsville, Illinois died unexpectedly at his residence June 26, 2026. He was an attorney who owned Steele Law Offices, LLC, in Glen Carbon, Illinois for many years.
He was born April 11, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Everett G. and Josephine Price Steele. His father survives. He graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1981, received his undergraduate degree at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois in 1985, and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the St. Louis University School of Law in 1989. Since then, he practiced law, first in Edwardsville and later in Glen Carbon, remaining an active member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He enjoyed working with his staff and clients and always endeavored to give quality and reassuring care and counsel.
In addition to his career, he enjoyed time with friends and family. It is not to be forgotten that he had one or more canine companions at his residence at any given time. He filled his free time with activities such as fishing, gardening, maintaining a host of aquarium fish at his residence, following the St. Louis Cardinals, and was an accomplished pianist, frequently putting his gift to use at the request of others at churches and elsewhere. Randy was loved by many and was a blessing and a help to countless others.
Growing up, his church home was Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Collinsville, where he was a member for many years. He continued to help with their Christmas Eve service every year.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Steele, in January 2023. In addition to his father, Everett G. Steele, of Glen Carbon, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Mireille Steele, and their five daughters, his special nieces, all of Glen Carbon, along with cherished cousins and their extended families. He leaves behind countless friends as well.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on August 1, 2026 at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial took place at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville. Memorial gifts may be given to Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC (associated with Billy Graham Evangelistic Association) or to Convoy of Hope in Springfield, MO (a relief ministry with the Assemblies of God).
