Priscilla A. Prough, 76, died at 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at the home of her son and daughter in law, surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Jerseyville on August 1, 1940, and was one of children, and the only daughter, born to George "Bud" and Dorothy M. (Foster) Russell.Priscilla graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1957, and a few months later married Dennis Prough on July 13, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville.  During their 40 years marriage they made their home in Kane, where they raised their four children and welcomed grandchildren.She began working at the Jacoby Brothers Furniture Store, as well as the funeral home, until accepting a position with the Jersey Community Unit School District #100, serving as the secretary a the Kane Grade School.  Although her official title was secretary, Priscilla became much more than that. She was the nurse, mother and friend to any student that walked through those doors, and was a Kane Hornet for life.    After the closing of the school, Priscilla moved on to serve in the same position at Jersey Community High School.    Regardless of her location, Priscilla gave her heart to everything she did and everyone she came in contact with, and somehow, in her spare time, found enough room in her schedule to serve as the Kane Village Water Clerk for over 20 years.Priscilla loved her family immensely, and never failed to support in whatever capacity was needed.  She was a devoted Grandma, and was a proud supporter and protector of them, just ask anyone who attended one of their sporting events.Surviving are her four children and spouses, David and Gayle Prough of Jerseyville, Laura Cory of Kane, Brenda and Chris Lorton of Jerseyville, and Mark Prough; 14 Grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan Gowin, and his companion, Lucianna Reese of Medora, Jared Prough of Jerseyville, Jillann and Brandon Beasley of Jerseyville; Amanda and Joe Koenig , Michelle Talley, and Tara and Brian Meado all of Jerseyville, Travis Cory of Shiloh, Jenna Lorton of Jerseyville, KadiLorton of St. Louis, Mo., and George Lorton and Michael Lorton both of Jerseyville;, Ashley Prough of Greenfield,  Erik Prough and Eileen Prough both of St. Louis, MO.; 12 Great Grandchildren, Lane, Charlotte, Violet, Austin, Ethan, Andrew, Sophia, Emma Jo, Sawyer Jo, Angelica, Jace and Sadie; her sisters in law and brothers in law, June Russell and Judy Russell both of Jerseyville; Becky and Charles Alexander of Grafton, and Gary and LouannPrough of Brighton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Russell, Robert Russell and Roger Russell.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Chuck Keene will officiate.Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools in Jerseyville or the Blessing Hospice of Greene County.
