Phyllis Williams-Glenn

Phyllis Lorraine Williams-Glenn, 88, of Cottage Hills, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024.

She was born on August 27, 1935, in Jalapa, IL, the daughter of Truman and Cecil Cope. She married Louis J. Williams on August 9, 1952, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1989. She later married Robert Glenn on February 28, 1998 at Brown Street Baptist in Alton. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2024.

Phyllis was an avid Christian who loved the Lord and always put God First. She was an active member of Cottage Hills Baptist Church and always volunteering to others in need. She enjoyed being with family and around her grandkids. She loved being outside, pulling weeds and working in the garden.

Survivors include her children, Mary Walsh of Mt. Olive, IL, Julie (Tim) Meeks, of Godfrey, and Jeanette (Jerry) Mullins of East Alton; grandchildren, Kelly Walsh of Godfrey, Eric Walsh of Mt. Olive, Amanda (Todd) Brantley of East Alton, David (Jessica) Meeks of Wood River, Michael (Hannah) Meeks of Bethalto, Brandon (Megan) Meeks of Godfrey, and Connor Mullins of East Alton; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Louis and Robert; siblings, Estella Collins, Asa Cope, Stanley Cope, Fritz Cope, and Clarence Cope; a son-in-law, Charles Walsh; a granddaughter-in-law, Leann Walsh.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Ken Rutherford will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to Cottage Hills Baptist Church.
