Paulette Krug

Alton |

Paulette Anne Krug was called to the Lord on June 9, 2024 in Lawrence, Kansas. Paulette was born to Paul and Dorothy Snyder on August 14, 1950, in St. Charles, Missouri.  She was the youngest and most mischievous of three daughters. She attended St. Charles High School but dropped out to become a mother in 1968 to the first of her two daughters.  She later earned her GED, which made her very proud. She divorced her first husband, the father of her girls in 1991 and embarked on life as an independent woman. She met her second husband - the love of her life - Clayton Krug, and they married in 1993.  Clayton lovingly referred to her as Paulie. He preceded her in death in 2017 but not before they made wonderful memories and lifelong friends as they enjoyed dinner and dancing at the Eagles and Alton Sportsmen's Clubs.  They were also members of the Alton Boat Club.  She and Clayton also enjoyed poker nights with their close friends.  Paulette missed Clayton until her last breath.

Paulette made friends wherever she went with her quick-wit and infectious laugh. She was always the life of the party.  The older she got, the less she filtered the things she would say. This generally resulted in more laughter and many fun memories.

Paulette loved to go to the casinos, both locally and in Las Vegas - although she hated the plane ride to get to Las Vegas.  She also loved scratch off lottery tickets.  Her go-to location to get those scratch off tickets was the Moto-Mart on Godfrey Road where she was well known and well loved.

Paulette loved her family deeply and enjoyed when her daughters would visit.  She often had lunches and get-togethers with her sisters and niece and nephews.

While her health was declining her daughters had the privilege and honor to help care for her and, in turn, spend some quality time making beautiful and, often, hilarious memories.  Paulette had only recently moved from Godfrey to stay with her daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Duane, in Lawrence, Kansas where her adventures were documented for everyone in the family to enjoy and experience with her.  Paulette had enjoyed lounging by the pool getting a tan and being catered to by Alisa, Duane and her grandchildren.

Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clayton, brother-in-law, Dave Bott, nephew, Steven Bott, granddaughter, Kim Krug and sons-in-law, Rick Powell and Robert Hodge.

Paulette was dearly loved and will be missed by many, especially her daughters, Angela Powell and Alisa Walker, son-in-law, Duane Walker, Jr., her loyal and devoted dog, Tom, sisters, Paulyn Synder and Barb Bott, niece, Diana Bott, nephews, Paul (Keith) Bott, Tim Stanfield and Greg (Georgia) Wolf, grand-children, Matt Powell, Reilly Ashlock, Victoria Ashlock, Audrey Ashlock, Ty Walker, Blake Walker, Gracyn Walker, Candy (Crystal) Krug, Chris (Genipher) Krug, Dustin (Abbie) Hodge and Ashley (Derek) Walter, step-son, Mike (Debbie) Krug, step-daughter, Julie Hodge, and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Father Bob’s Outreach (https://fatherbobsoutreach.com) or the 5A’s Animal Shelter in Godfrey, Illinois.
