Pansy “Pat” Buchanan, 88, of Cottage Hills passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born December 31, 1935 in Bertrand, MO to Dewey and Fannie (Anderson) Harper. She married Harry E. Buchanan June 6, 1954; he preceded her in death January 27, 2018.
Pat was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. She was a devoted Christian and loved teaching her Sunday school class.
She is survived by five children, Shelva (Roy) Lagemann, Dennis (Vi) Buchanan, Carol (Don) Pruitt, Kenny (Terri) Buchanan and Mary (Robbie) Davis; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and three brothers, Paul (Pam) Harper, Dewey (Brenda) Harper and Gary Harper.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Stanley and Vernon Harper and a sister, Virginia McPherson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at Paynic Home for Funeral in Rosewood Heights. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
