Naomi (Mize) Raynor, age 90, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, with her loving family by her side. Naomi was born on December 10, 1933, in Hurst, IL, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Lindsey) Mize.
On March 29, 1952, Naomi Mize married Frank Raynor, the love of her life and Frank passed away on August 31, 2011. Naomi was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a talented seamstress and a fantastic cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Naomi will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a dear friend. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Mize; and by her brothers, Kenny Mize, Ronald Mize, and Eugene Mize.
Naomi is survived by her loving daughters, Carolyn (Ken) Elliff of Edwardsville, IL, Judy (Dennis) Foret of Edwardsville, IL, Kathy (Larry) Hicks of Troy, IL and Janet (Dr. Alan Wickenhauser) Chapman of Troy, IL; special sister, Betty Kiefer of DeSoto, IL; proud grandmother to Matthew (Ann Marie) Foret, Brian (Jamie) Lloyd, Dr. Andrew (Dr. Laura) Elliff, Dave (Ashley) Elliff, Elizabeth (Pete) Visintin, Katie (Ryan) Peters, Dr. Lindsey (Andrew) Langendorf and Jill Chapman; proud great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, a graveside service will be held at Cundiff Cemetery in Blairsville, IL, at a later date.
