Nancy Newby

Nancy Carol Newby, 66, of Gillespie, IL, died at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 5:17 am. She was born November 29, 1959, in Litchfield, IL to Samuel William Davidson & Carol Lee Hyde Davidson. 

She married Terry Lee Newby on May 31, 1988. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2000. 

She was retired after having been a district manager for Fas Mart. Nancy was a veteran of the US Army. Nancy enjoyed latch hook and cooking shows. Nancy loved football, especially the New Orleans Saints. 

She is survived by her children, Tom (Sarah) Withee of Dorsey, IL, Amy Withee of Gillespie, IL, Micah Newby of Glen Carbon, IL, Brandon Newby of Glen Carbon, IL, grandchildren, Emily Taylor, Torah Withee, Wren Withee and brother, Bill (Becky) Davidson of Mt. Olive, IL. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and sister, Karen Boatman.

Gravesite Services will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Gillespie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church of Gillespie.
