Michael P. Maddox, 70, passed away at 10:15pm on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Alton Nursing and Rehab. He was born on February 23, 1942, in Shawneetown, Illinois. He married Janet Manley Jones on January 13, 2007, in Alton and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Barbie Maddox of California, two sons and a daughter in law: Michael and Kim Maddox Jr. of Carbondale, Illinois, Matthew Maddox, several grandchildren, a step daughter and her husband: Jamie and Dana Merrill, two step - granddaughters, two half brothers: Richard Dean, Sam Dean, one half sister: Patricia Miranda, a special aunt: Bob, and a brother in law and sister in law: Dave and Cathy Manley of Bethalto.
He was formerly employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling, Illinois. He attended Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
