Matthew Scott

Matthew Joseph Scott, 21, of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away at his home on Saturday, June 22, 2024. He was born June 1, 2003, in Maryville, Illinois, a son of Walter Craig and Lisa Michelle (Morrison) Scott of Edwardsville. Matthew was a 2021 graduate of Maryville Christian School. He loved video gaming, watching movies, constructing and collecting legos, traveling, reading and was a fan of Disney and Anime. In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Moira Scott of Granite City and Gabrielle and Jacob Montalbano of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, Samuel Scott of Edwardsville; grandparents, Walter David Scott of Edwardsville, Susan and James Powell Sr. of Litchfield and Gary and Carol Morrison of Edwardsville; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sarah Scott and a cousin, Gregory Morrison II. In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Geoffrey Dunleavey officiating.
