Mary H. Perll was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left for heaven on June 8, 2024 at age 68 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 19, 1955 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Morris and Marilyn Halliday, Mary grew up in Alton, Illinois playing on the bluffs of the Mississippi. She graduated from Marquette High School in Alton. Mary then attended Saint Mary’s college in Leavenworth, Kansas achieving a B.S. in Medical Technology. Her first job was at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, where she met her lifelong friends, Rhonda and Lisa. It was also at St. Mary’s where she met the love of her life, Pat, a chemistry supervisor. They were married on November 27, 1982 and had four sons; Frank, Will, Matt and Chris. Following the birth of her children, Mary had a fulfilling career at Children’s Mercy Hospital for over 30 years.
Mary was an avid gardener with a backyard full of flowers and plants. She loved being close to a body of water with a book, especially the Lake of the Ozarks and Sanibel Island. She also enjoyed needlepoint; creating a myriad of gifts for friends and family. Mary’s other interests included the cosmos, fantasy, baking, and shopping.
Mary is survived by her husband, Pat; her sons, Frank, Will, Matt (Caitlin), and Chris; her grandchildren, Luke and Eliza; her siblings, Bill (Rhonda), Kathy (Bill), PJ (Jennifer); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Steve.
Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 AM on June, 18 2024 at the Church of the Nativity located at 3800 W. 119th St, Leawood, Kan. with funeral Mass to follow starting at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please donate to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
