Marsha Angevine

Belleville |

Marsha Ann Angevine (née Lewallen), 73, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on February 23rd, 1951, in Belleville, Marsha lived a life filled with love, dedication to her family, and a deep passion for music and travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Lewallen Sr. and Catherine Fruth (née Konradt); her stepfather, Malcolm Fruth; her father-in-law, Cleveland Angevine; her mother-in-law, Hazel Angevine (née DeHart); her maternal grandfather, Christian Konradt; and her sister, Charlotte Conner (née Grabak).

Marsha leaves behind her beloved husband, Richard Angevine, with whom she shared nearly 53 years of marriage after their wedding on October 29, 1971. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Angevine (Sandy Watts) of Belleville, and Patrick Angevine (Michael Wood) of St. Louis; her grandchildren, Ashley Angevine, Danielle (Nick) DeLong, Brendan Angevine, and Brendan Wood; her great grandchildren Miles DeLong and baby girl DeLong that's expected in March; her brother, Dennis Lewallen of Piedmont, Missouri; her brother-in-law, Marshall Conner of Belleville and Gerald Angevine of Belleville; her niece, Erin Conner (Chris Allen) of Belleville; and her family’s three cherished “granddogs” Sam, Leo, and Reign.

Marsha attended Franklin School, Central Junior High School, and Belleville Township High School West, where she graduated in 1970. She worked alongside her sister Charlotte as a physical therapy aide at Calvin Johnson Nursing Home until the birth of her first son. As a dedicated room mother at Franklin School from 1980 to 1990, Marsha took great pride in supporting her children and their classmates. She was also actively involved in various booster clubs in addition to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). She was honored as a lifetime member of the PTA, a testament to her contributions to the school community.

Marsha had an eclectic taste in music, counting ABBA, Alabama, Cher, Kenny Chesney, Pitbull and Shania Twain among her favorite artists—many of whom she was fortunate enough to see live in concert. In addition to her love for music, she had an adventurous spirit, particularly when it came to tropical beach vacations. Some of her happiest moments were spent on sun-soaked trips to Cancun and Punta Cana, surrounded by her family. Marsha’s greatest joy, however, was her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a constant source of love, support, and warmth, and her family feels blessed to have had her as their matriarch.

Per Marsha's wishes, she will be cremated, and a private service will be held at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marsha's memory to either the Belleville Area Humane Society or the American Stroke Association.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ValhallaGardensandFuneralHome.com for the Angevine family.

Marsha will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on through the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
