Macel M. McGill, 90, went to be with the Lord at 5:02 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010, at Bethalto Care Center.

She was born on June 9, 1920, in Hamilton County, Illinois the daughter of the late William "Matt" Madison and Annie (Trotter) Maulding. She married Clyde McGill Sr. on November 18, 1939 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1975. Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Patricia McGill of Gig Harbor, Washington, Drexine and Ron Bade of Crossville, Tennessee, two sons and daughters in law: Clyde "Butch" and Judy McGill Jr. of East Alton, Illinois, Russ and Emilie McGill of Champaign, Illinois, eight grandchildren and their spouses: Bruce and Julie Bade, Bryan and Melissa Bade, Joe and Kelli McGill, Kristi McGill, Tiffany and Jeremy Plank, Kathryn McGill, Elizabeth and Andrew Gravlin, Isaac McGill, ten great grandchildren, one nephew, and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was formerly employed as a custodian for the Roxana Community School District #1 at Rosewood School. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights where she was the former superintendent of the nursery, a deaconess, and church custodian. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rosewood Heights Fire Department. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson: Clyde III, one granddaughter: Jennifer Smith, two brothers, and two sisters.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River and will continue from 10am until 11am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights. Pastor Brian Crippen Jr. and Pastor Frank Sparks will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights, Rosewood Heights Volunteer Fire Department, or J.A.M. Ministries.
