Louis McHenry

Louis E. McHenry, 73, of Millstadt, IL, born August 11, 1952, in Massillon, OH, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

Louis was a proud member of the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. Following his military service, he worked as a Microsoft engineer until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the American Legions and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary L. McHenry, nee McGuire, whom he married on June 5, 1972, and who died on April 8, 2024; his mother, Mary L. McHenry, nee Long; his father, William Leslie McHenry; two brothers, William L. McHenry and James D. McHenry; and a sister, Margie Stiener.

Surviving are his six children, Melissa McHenry, Charity Marie (Brian) Werner, Brian L. McHenry, Sarah (Scott II) Conklin, Michael McHenry, and Scott McHenry;

16 grandchildren, Samantha Allan, Chase Bauer, Natalia Werner, Autumn Werner, Reid Werner, Caden McHenry, Lilly McHenry, Julietta Conklin, Maggie Conklin, Phoenix Conklin, Atreus Conklin, Gianna McHenry, Rue McHenry, Summer McHenry, Alyssa Williams, and Lilyanna Williams; a sister, Charlene Korns; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
