Lois Cherry

Lois Cherry (nee Moore), 90, of Dupo, IL, born on July 12, 1936, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, in her home with family by her side.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ortha Mae Moore (nee Shelton); her beloved husband, Richard Cherry Sr.; daughter, Vicki Lynn Noel; son, Kenneth Michael Cherry; and sister, Kay Pruitt.

Left to cherish Lois’ memory are four children, Richard (Rebecca) Cherry of Dupo, IL, Nicki (Robert) Taylor of Caseyville, FL, Dennis (Kristi) Cherry of St. Jacob, IL, Louis (Bobbi) Cherry of Collinsville, IL; one sister, Joan Koehler of Highland, IL; six grandchildren, Tyann Dannette Cherry, Erica Rochelle Cherry, Sam Michael Taylor, Maya Marie Cherry, Jenna Summer Cherry, Sean Michael McClure; two step-grandchildren, Zack Farmer, Sean Hill; one great-granddaughter, Sierra Rain Taylor; two great-great-grandchildren, Kohen Taylor, Klark Saaverda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL 62269.

Lois will be buried with her husband, Richard, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
