Lindsey L. Hardy, 61, passed away at 2:00am on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born on July 23, 1949 the daughter of Geraldean Demas of Granite City and the late Albert Skaggs.
She married Robert C. "Bob" Hardy on October 7, 1966 in Granite City and he survives. In addition to her mother and her husband, survivors include one daughter: Lori Forsting and her fiance': Josh Pochek of Holiday Shores, two sons and daughters in law: Robert "Bob" and Bev Hardy of Moro, and Jon and Joan Hardy of Holiday Shores, seven grandchildren: Hunter, Sydney, Hanna, Allyson, Cade, Carson, and Lauren, two sisters and a brother in law: Vickey and Rick Burkey of St. Charles, Missouri, and Terrey Haggett of Alton, along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
She was employed at Landmark Realty in Bethalto as a realtor for over 15 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Wood River VFW Post 2859. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was preceded in death by her father and one grandson: Aiden Hardy.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial services be held at 11am on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.
Pastor Dan Smith will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to VNA-TIP Hospice.
