Kenneth R. “Kenny” Hunt, 71, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, January 27 in Greenfield. He was born March 20, 1954 in Alton, the son of Lloyd and Eva (Bottoms) Hunt. He married Debbie Fones March 27, 1976, in Jerseyville, and she survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Brandon (Kelly) Hunt of Lima, Nathan “Bob” (Sam) Hunt of Worden and Dustin (Kimberly) Hunt of Carlinville, his grandchildren Brianna, Cecil, Brandon, Quinn, Kailynn, Carter, Savanna, Brayden, Raylan, Lilly, Sylas, Ellyott, Jayda, Brooklyn, Ryleigh, Paizley, Adelynn, Ariel, and Chevy, his brothers, Nelson (Patty) Hunt, and Gene (Marlene) Hunt, his sister, Lori (Jeff) Snyder, and his mother-in-law, Helen Fones, a sister-in-law Brenda (Joe) Sears, brother-in-law Scott Dobson, several nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and two great nieces with whom he shared an especially close and loving bond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Gerald, his father in law Cecil Fones, and a sister in law Vonda Fones Dobson.
Kenny graduated in 1972 from Jersey Community High School. He has been the owner and operator at Parks Locker Service in Greenfield for the past 43 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and spent many years coaching in the Greenfield Little League and served for several years as the league’s commissioner. He loved mud racing, watching Nascar, St. Louis Blues hockey, and always had a joke or story to share. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3, from 4 until 7 pm at the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 4, at 10:30 am at the church. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are requested to Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield, Shriner’s Hospital, or the Greenfield Tiger Backers.
