John William Vercoglio, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 surrounded by the loved of his family. He was 84 years old.
Born on July 7, 1941, John was the beloved son of the late William and Hilda Vercoglio (Scopel). He was a man known for his strength, wisdom, and deep dedication to those he loved.
John is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Vercoglio (Koniak), with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unwavering companionship. He was the proud father of four children: William Vercoglio, Dean Vercoglio, Lance Vercoglio (Mary), and Dawn Theivagt (Michael). His love and guidance were constants in their lives, and his presence will be deeply missed. John's legacy continues through his nine cherished grandchildren: Justin Bertolino (Taylor), Troy Vercoglio, Trenton Vercoglio, Markelle Reising, Gabrielle Reising, Michaela Theivagt, Jacqueline Vercoglio, Kamryn Theivagt, and John Vercoglio; and his three adored great-grandchildren; Lew Bertolino, Vincent Bertolino, and Briella Bertolino.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved great-grandson, Ryder Vercoglio
John leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family values. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his kind heart and the many lives he touched along the way.
A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate John's life. Memorials are suggested to Frank Bertetti Benld Public Library.
