John Daubman

John Stephen Daubman, 67, went to meet Jesus on Friday, August 7, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony Health Center.

Born May 26, 1959 in Virginia, MN, he was the son of the late George and Virginia (Morgan) Daubman.

He married the love of his life, Grace Ward on July 2, 1988, spending 38 wonderful years together.

John enlisted in the United States Army at 17 years old, and served joyfully for 8 years, some of time in Germany. He was a proud Army veteran. 

He had many jobs throughout his lifetime, working until retirement as a maintenance man for Hayner Public Library in Alton. He enjoyed going to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games with his church friends and especially loved watching his Buffalo Bills football team play, win or loose.

He loved the Lord. No matter what happened in his life, he never gave up on the Lord.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife Grace are a daughter, Stephanie; father-in-law, Paul (Gerry) Ward; sister, Vickie Neal; brothers, George, Jr. (Gerry) Daubman, Mark Daubman, Phillip Daubman, Timothy (Tammy) Daubman; brother-in-law, Randy (Julie) Ward; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Robbie), Nathan, Angie (Tim), Crystal (Steve), Mark Jr., Amber, Jessica (Dustin), Emily, and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Ward; and nephew, Kevin.

Visitation will be from 5 pm until time of service at 6:30 pm, Monday, August 17 at Beltline Christian Center, 310 Oakwood Av, Alton.  Pastor Todd Shaw will officiate.

Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 18.
