Jeffrey Dean Vaughn, 54, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton from pneumonia after a brief illness. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of OSF St. Anthony's and Robings Manor for the excellent care they provided.
He was the son of Patricia (Walker) Vaughn ant the late James A. Vaughn, Jr.
Jeff served in the U.S. Navy as a combat corpsman from 1980-86 in various overseas combat locations.
Surviving are his mother, Patricia; sister, Sharon Vaughn; brother, Robert Vaughn; two sons, Joshua and Seth; nieces, Rachel (Gabe) Swift, Sherah Rodriguez; great nephews, James, Steven and Anthony; great niece, Adriana; aunts, Martha Emshousen, Sophia Covington, Betty Vaughn, Agnes Ferguson and Wilma Butler; step-grandmother, Rev. Alta Vaughn; and numerous cousins.
Preceding in death were his father; and a sister, Pamela Buerster.
In accordance with his wishes, he was an organ donor and cremation rites were accorded.
Private interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made in Jeff's name to "The Wounded Warrior's Project".
Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
