Jason Michael Corzine, 43, died at 11:26 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2024 at his home, surrounded with family and friends. Born November 9, 1980, in Alton, he was the son of Jeffrey and Sheril (Bergesch) Corzine of Alton. Jason worked in numerous Auto Body shops throughout the area over the last 30 years.
He worked privately on custom vehicles his whole life. He also had a passion for his firewood business which he shared with his family. Jason enjoyed watching the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals, and NASCAR. Jason was fun and lighthearted; he never met a stranger and was kind to everyone. Jason loved his family and hosted dinner for them every Sunday. Above all, Jason’s favorite activity was spending quality time and playing with his daughter, Karsyn Jae. Jason married Melissa Douglas, of Alton, IL. on August 14, 2004.
Along with Melissa, he is survived by a daughter, Karsyn Jae Corzine, his parents Jeffery and Sheril Corzine, brothers Nicholas Corzine (Alicia), Matthew Corzine (Dawn), and sister, Christine Ash (William), and in-laws Matt Halliday (Lucy), Tara Cristel (Nate), Alice Halliday (Kyle), Matt Halliday (Katie), and many nieces and nephews. Jason also had “adopted” family members including Darrah Fielder and sons (Anderson & Colton). He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marley Jo Corzine and his grandparents, Robert and Darlene Bergesch and George and Bernice Corzine. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Pastor Steve McKinney will officiate. Memorial donations may be made in care of Melissa Corzine for the benefit of Karsyn Jae Corzine.
