James Modglin, 65, passed away at 9:57 pm Saturday November 16, 2013 at home.
He was born on July 16, 1948 in Harrisburg, IL the son of Kenneth & Nina (Palmer) Modglin.
He worked as a millwright and electrician for Jefferson Smurfit and worked at J.F. Electric. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and loved his pets.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi & Jeff Admire of Bunker Hill and Kelli & Joe Pence of Brighton, IL; four grandchildren, Tyler & Kyle Admire of Bethalto and Brad & Megan Pence of Brighton, one expectant great grandson, Cayden Pence ; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda & Leon Stilley of Equality, IL and Brenda Gulley of Carrier Mills, IL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Modglin and a brother-in-law, Jerry “Tub” Gulley.
Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
A celebration of his life will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday, November 22, 2013 at Johnson’s Corner, 2000 State St. Alton, IL.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
