Henry Rethorn

KANE-  Henry Edward Rethorn, 46, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Kane, Illinois.He was born in Alton on Nov. 20, 1966, and was one of five children born to Edward & Suzanne E. (Roberts) Rethorn.He graduated in 1985 from Jersey Community High School, and later furthered his studies in computer aided drafting.  For the past 20 years he had been employed as a project engineer with Celanese Emulsion Polymers in Meredosia.He was formerly married to Jennifer Sue (Ivers) Rethorn, and together they were blessed with two children.Surviving are his mother, Suzann Rethorn of Godfrey; a son, Koty Rethorn; a daughter, Kathrine Rose Rethorn; and four sisters & brothers in law, Beth & Don McKenzie of New Mexico, Lisa Rethorn  and Amy Atterberry both of Godfrey, and Martha Nelson of Jerseyville.He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Rethorn; and his grandparents, Gus & Toby Roberts and Henry & Elsie Rethorn.Visitation for both Henry & Jennifer will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Combined funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday at the Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville, with Rev. Robert Heimgartner officiating.He will be laid to rest alongside Jennifer at the Kane Cemetery.In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial donations would be appreciated for his children in care of the funeral home
