Helen M. Pruett-Castelli, 75, passed away at 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Bethalto Care Center.
Born March 31, 1936 in Meadowbrook, she was a daughter of Floyd and Fern (Hodge) Pruett.
She married James Castelli Dec. 19, 1953 in Bethalto. He survives.
She was an accomplished artist, particularly in the medium of watercolor. She also enjoyed waterskiing and dancing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Catrina M. (Raymond) Corethers of Godfrey; two sons, tony (Thelma) Castelli of Barstow, Calif. and Tim (Debbie) Castelli of Beggs, Okla.; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris (Ardo) Gagner of Carlinville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Pruett.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Tom Liebler at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, where she was a member.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
