Helen Littleton

Helen Josephine (nee Williams) Littleton went home to Heaven to be with the Lord on November 27, 2018. 

Helen “Jody” was born August 8, 1930, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Rufus Duff and Flora Anna (Crider) Williams. She married Marvin Esco Littleton, Jr. on September 3, 1948, in Wood River, Illinois, and he survives. 

Helen is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Nadine (nee Williams) Houston; daughters, Sandra K. (Bob) Uetz of Hammond, IN, Cathy Jo (Stanley) Wahl of Jacksonville, and Patricia Sue (G. Patrick) Murphy of Marion; grandchildren, Carrie Jo Terry of Naples, FL, Andrea K. (Tim) Croston of Hammond, IN, Jodi Renee Sprehe of Fayetteville, NC; Sara Jo (Jeff) Watret of Jacksonville, and Taylor Forest Sprehe of St. Louis, MO; great grandchildren, Cameron Grace Terry, Ethan James Terry, Josephine Anne Croston, Brooklynne  Patricia Sprehe, Hannah Mae Watret; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen graduated from East Alton-Wood River Community High School in 1948. She worked as a marketing executive at Olin Winchester Western and retired after 25 years of service.

Helen loved the Lord her God and her family with all her heart. She was the most gracious lady and consistently expected the same of her daughters. Helen learned to cook in the kitchen of Rosewood Baptist Church and became a remarkable baker and cook. It is simply impossible to express how much Helen is deeply missed – she was the best wife and mother ever!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Duff and Flora Williams; her siblings, Etoile Willadene Williams, James Merrin Williams, Vermadella Sweet, Elisha Norman Williams, Virginia Elenora Denny, Hubert Milton Williams. Helen was also preceded in death by her dearest friend, LaVerne Trent, and they are together this moment sharing a laugh and a smile again.

Visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Rosewood Heights Community Church, 50 Rosewood Drive, East Alton, Illinois.  Pastor Andre’ Dobson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Woodland Hills Cemetery.
