Harold “Bud” E. Roemelin Jr., 75, formerly of Moro, passed away at 4:25 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at University Health Care in Edwardsville.
He was born on February 8, 1937 in Granite City, the son of Harold E. Roemelin Sr. and Mildred Malinda Adams.
He married Gloria Jean Franklin on June 28, 1988 in Godfrey. She survives.
He served in the Army and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at McDonnell Douglas until he retired in 1992. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill, L & I Campers, Leisure World Health Club and Camp Manitoumi. He loved spending time “harassing” his family and friends with his one of a kind and unforgettable sense of humor. He was very active and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, swimming, canoeing and horseback riding.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Timothy Roemelin of Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa and Randy Roth of Godfrey, Sherri Carroll of Roxana and Melinda and Edward Blanchard of Texas; ten grandchildren, Ashlee, Brittany, Danielle, Megan, Amanda, TJ, Jeremy, Jason, Jena-Lee and Trisha; ten great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Darrel Lindow of Moro and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Jeremy Hawkins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, November 30, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill.
Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Bunker Hill American Legion.
Memorials may be made to Wings of Flight or Berean Baptist Church.
