Gerry “Gary” Donald Turner of Medora, IL, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, surrounded by family
From 1961 to 1964, Gerry honorably served in the United States Navy, stationed aboard the USS Willard Keith. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
On April 1, 1967, Gerry married the love of his life, J. Elaine (Scheffel) Turner.
Gerry was a devoted father to his daughters, Tracy (Scott) Rothe and Stacy (Nelson) Erb. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Gerry is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Charles) Carter, with whom he shared a lifelong bond grounded in love, memory, and mutual care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Pearl (Rutman) Turner; grandmother Sarah Kelly; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George “Nook” and Muriel “Liz” Scheffel; his infant grandson, Lucas Rothe; his daughter, Rachel Thompson; five sisters; and three brothers.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, December 12. 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
