Gary Lee Burnett, 66, of Madison, IL, passed away at 10:32 a.m. Tues. Dec. 16, 2025 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born Sept. 16, 1959 in Granite City to the late Ernest and Mildred (Phenix) Burnett.
Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran. Following his military service, he retired after many years of working in maintenance for the Madison County Housing Authority. In his spare time he loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Burnett of Lacey Spring, AL, a son, Adam Burnett of Huntsville, AL, 2 grandchildren, Lawson and Ledger Burnett,3 granddogs, Rip, Teeter and Addie, a sister, Patricia (Rick) Justice of Edwardsville, IL, and 3 nieces, Vicki, Shelley and Heather.
