Forest Dickson

Forest Donald Dickson, 92, passed at 7:21 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Jerseyville Estates, where he has resided for the past 3 years.

He was born on June 26, 1931 in Cary, Wisconsin, the last surviving of thirteen children born to John and Myrtle (Fay) Dickson.

From his first marriage to Phyllis Hansen, was born three children: Peggy, Nancy and Tom. He later married Betty Sutterfield, and from their union was born his youngest daughter, Julie.

He married the love of his life, Charlotte Louise (Perdun) Elliott on September 7, 1973 in San Bernardino County, California, and together they shared in 47 years of marriage, prior to her passing on January 3, 2021.

Forest and Charlotte spend many years residing in California, where Forest was employed as a Maintenance Worker for the City of Riverside. Following his retirement, they relocated to Wisconsin for they resided for a number of years, prior to settling in Brighton, where they remained for the past 20 years.

Forest’s faith was very important to him and he was an active member of the church all his life.

He was a hard worker and led a full life. He enjoyed spending time on his motorcycle, being outdoors and loved baseball!

He was dearly loved and will be missed by many, especially his family who he leaves behind. His four children, Peggy Rodrigus of El Cajon, California, Nancy Koland of Jacksonville, Florida, Tom Dickson of Egnar, Colorado and Julie Jones of Bullhead City, Arizona; two step daughters, Bonnie and Linda; 20 grandchildren, Joline, Sabrina, Michael, Jennifer, Amanda, Carissa, Cayley, Jeremy, Travis, Sarah, Jason, Danielle, Jennifer, Kirsten, Andy, Jeremiah, Jaime, Justin, Elliott and Emily; 38 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a “bonus” granddaughter, Kim (Greg) Frasure; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Wilbur, Glen, Chuck, Murial, Harris, Reba, Clara, Helen, Lila, June, Fern and Betty.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Services at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
