Floda Belle Polacek, 81, passed away at 6:12 am on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on February 10, 1941, in Pomona, Illinois, the daughter of the late Carl and Bernice (Tripp) Jones. She married Thomas E. Polacek on September 10, 1975, in Granite City and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters: Winona Rull, Monica Bowman, a stepson: Greg Polacek, her grandchildren, and their spouses: Andrea and Alex Rather, Dakota and SPC Samuel Bowlin, Dalton Rull, her great-grandchildren: Oliver Bowlin, Nash Bowlin, Cameron Rather, Mason Rather, two sisters: Roberta Fuller, Mary Picquard, a brother and sister in law: John and Wanell Jones, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Floda was employed at Edward Jones for over twenty years.
In addition to her parents, Floda was preceded in death by her first husband: Jack Cox, a brother and sister-in-law: Elmer and Bertha Jones, a nephew: Bradford Jones, and a great-niece: Rachael Husky.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private memorial services will be held.
