Faye Darr

Faye Marie Darr, 93, died peacefully at 2:36 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Il.She was born in Kane on June 9, 1917, one of seven children born to the late Edward & Ivy Lavudy (Harmon) Hardwick.  Faye was a lifetime resident of Kane, and was a loyal member of both the Kane United Methodist Church and the Elizabeth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She married Daniel Keith Darr on Aug. 28, 1937 in Bowling Green, Mo., and the two celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary shortly before his death on Sept. 19, 2007. Together, they were the parents of a son, Daniel Wayne Darr who died of cancer on Aug. 2, 1982.Faye is survived by a daughter in law, Margaret Darr Rowold of Highland; three grandchildren & their spouses, Randy & Darnel Darr of Villa Grove, Kathy & Joe Goebel of Pocahontas, and Dayna & Stan Goebel of Highland; seven great grandchildren, Misty, Jenn, Alisha, Amanda, Brandon, Brianne, and Daniel.In additon to her parents, husband, and son, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nelle Williams, Lela Shaw, Flossie Hardwick; and three brothers, Orville, Clarence and Newell Hardwick.Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Friday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m that day.Burial will take place in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the Kane United Methodist Church.
