Eugenia “Jean” (Ross) Love Taynor, 96, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Hallmark Healthcare of Carlinville. Jean had been a resident of Hallmark Healthcare of Carlinville since 2016.
She was born on May 25, 1930, in Carlinville, the youngest of four children born to Theodore and Colette Ross.
Jean, a graduate of Carlinville High School, married Donald D. Love of Carlinville on February 14, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1974, at the age of 44 while serving as a Deputy with the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office. She married Charles L. Taynor of Alton, IL, on April 22, 1978, initially living in Carlinville before moving to Brighton, IL. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2010.
Jean was an avid fisherman, and she loved spending summers at her cabin on the Illinois River near Grafton, IL. Friends and family would frequently congregate there to enjoy a day of visiting, cooking out and just having fun.
Jean loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. She always had the ability to say or do something to lighten the mood or bring a smile to the faces of those around her.
She is survived by her son Roger L. Love of Stafford, VA; daughter in law Linda Love of Virden, IL; six grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; siblings, Theodore Ross, Gerald Ross, and Colette Ross Kretsinger; son Lonnie D. Love.
Visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of memorial service at 10 am on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery.
