Edward Jay Chesus, 82, of Gillespie, IL, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center, Gillespie, IL on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 5:09 am.
He was born August 26, 1943, in Litchfield, IL to Edward J. Chesus & Rae Marie Hull Palier. He married Carol (Jalinsky) Chesus.
He was a retired sales engineer. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family most of all.
He is survived by his spouse, Carol Chesus of Gillespie, IL, children, Steve (Jennifer) Biggs of Franklin, TN, Dana (Jamie) Callaway of Glendale, MO, Tim Chesus of Granite City, IL, grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alayna, Chase, Quinn, Celia, Charlie, Luke, William, siblings, Linda (John) Fassero of Gillespie, IL, Gina (Bill) Wright of Gillespie, IL, Louis Daley of Gillespie, IL.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
