Dwight A. Kistner Sr., 70, of Rosewood Heights passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 1, 1946 in Alton to Maurice and Evelyn Fern (Benner) Kistner. He worked for many years as an Operating Engineer of Shell Oil company. He married Kayla J, McCree December 23, 2005. Dwight loved all animals, playing chess, listening to jazz and horticulture.
He is survived by his wife Kayla J. Kistner of Rosewood Heights: four children, Dianne (Matthew) Neibel of Brighton, Dawn (James) Johnson of Rosewood Heights, Dwight A. “Buddy” Kistner Jr of Oblong, IL and Luke (Christy) Kistner of Bethalto; four step children, Niccole (Jeff) Dancy of Sparta, IL, Stephen Farris of St. Peters, MO, Philip (Jessie) Farris of Bethany, WV and Isaiah (Jesslyn) Farris of Nashville, IL; six grandchildren, Dillon Neibel, Hayley Neibel, Justin Johnson, Josh Johnson, Hope Kistner and one on the way and two brothers, Larry M. (Kathy) Ferguson of Beecher City, IL and Brian Kistner of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy G. Berry.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. A private burial will follow services.
