Doris D. Mossman, 100 of Brussels, Il passed away on January 8, 2026 at Evercare of Hardin, IL surrounded by family. Born July 11, 1925 in Deer Plain, IL. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Brink) Gerdesmeyer.
She married Clarence L. Mossman, Jr. On March 2, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels, IL. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2015.
She was a homemaker and lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and member of St. Mary’s Altar Society. Doris was the mother to Allan, Carol (Bob) Weishaar of Golden Eagle, IL, Pam (Joe) Ritter of Kansas City, & Michelle (Roger) Hagen of Hardin, IL. She had 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by her son Allan, and her three sisters, Ceceila Schlinker, Marie Roth and Melba Jean Elble.
Per her request there will be no visitation.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels, IL. With Rev. Don J. Roberts as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s School, St. Mary’s Cemetery or St. Mary’s Altar Society.
