Dennis Eugene Luster, 70, passed away at 6:00 am on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 3, 1955 in Wood River to Quentin D. and Thelma (Dively) Luster.
He married Lisa Aiello on February 29, 1980 at Brown Street Baptist in Alton. She survives.
Dennis earned his Master's Degree from Washington University and had a 37-year long career at Boeing/McDonnell-Douglas in Information Technology. Outside of work, he was a skilled painter and an avid gardener (his favorite was daylilies). Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a good man. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by his children, Ashley (Jess Henderson) Luster, Austin (Claire) Luster, and Angelina (Jacob) Helbig; two siblings, Evelyn (Michael) Gonzales, and Dale (Laurie) Luster; a brother-in-law, Chuck Randall; and his grandsons, Alex Helbig and Felix Helbig.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Randolph and Cheryl Randall; a brother-in-law, Gene Randolph; and a sister-in-law, Adel Luster.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
