Dennis Bedwell

Dennis I. Bedwell, 66, of Rosewood Heights passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family.  He was born May 14, 1951, in Wood River, Illinois.  After serving in the United States Army, Dennis married Kim M. McPeak on August 22, 1975.  They are members of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.He is survived by his wife, Kim M. Bedwell of Rosewood Heights; mother, Della (George) Keller of South Roxana; two daughters, Katie (Bob) Moore of Troy and Lindsay Bedwell (Eric Williams) of East Alton; four grandchildren, Ella, Layla, McLaine and Georgia; brother, Allen (Yvonne) Bedwell of Godfrey and sister, Denise (Tim) Cranford of Fosterburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Bedwell, and sister, Cathy Savage.A former groundskeeper at SIUE, Dennis enjoyed gardening, barbequing, spending time outside with family and neighbors, and listening to Cardinal baseball, but what brought him the most joy was being with his four granddaughters.  He was a loving husband, a supportive father and father-in-law, and a friend to all who knew him. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Donald Wolford as Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery.  Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
