Darren Kuhn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darren Duane Kuhn, a beloved husband, devoted friend, and skilled mechanic. Darren, a resident of Wood River, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, at the age of 51.

Born on Monday, September 30th, 1974, in Alton, Illinois, Darren spent his life in the local community of which he was a proud member. His career as a mechanic brought him immense satisfaction and respect. Known for his helpful nature, Darren could often be found under the hood of a car, solving problems or at a car show enjoying the craft of other car enthusiasts.

Darren is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Michelle Kuhn of Wood River, IL, who was not only his partner but also his best friend, confidant, and the love of his life. They started dating in high school and got married shortly after. Together they shared countless memories filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Also surviving are 2 daughters and son-in-law; Alyssa & Justin Kuhn of Godfrey, Caitlyn Kuhn of Katy, Texas, 1 son and daughter-in-law; Tyler (Alexis) Kuhn of Wood River, 2 grandchildren; Kaisen and Calvin Kuhn, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, father; Dennis D. Kuhn

Darren had a long list of friends but his closest friends Danny Coon, Chris Ontis, Sever Leone and Chris LaHue were the guys he called brothers. Family and friends remember Darren as a kind-hearted, hardworking man who embodied sincerity and integrity. His warmth and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Darren’s legacy is one of dedication to family, friends, and community.
